I recently officially launched a new podcast called “World Web Stories”. My goal is to interview at least one person from almost every country in the world. This is one of my challenges for 2021.

Why launching a new podcast?

I initially launched “World Web Stories” in 2017. At this time, I was living in Mauritius and I wanted to interview Francophone people who would be willing to share their story and their experience. I did 5 episodes in French which you can still listen to on Youtube. My motivation was based on showing younger people that any path can lead to working with the web in general. Each story is unique, each experience is unique and each individual story is worth sharing with the world.

But then, I moved to Canada and I didn’t have the chance to think about this project anymore.

The wake-up call

Only recently, I started thinking about what makes me feel good. In these weird times of COVID-19, where we are all at home, it feels sometimes hard to turn yourself to others, to open up.

I started reflecting on my passions and I found out that “people” is what I’m the most passionate about. I’m a web developer and yes, I’m passionate about coding and solving problem but “people” is higher in the hierarchy of “passion”. Learning other experiences, learning about new cultures and ways of thinking and doing things is probably what give me the most satisfaction in life.

Therefore, I decided to resurrect the “World Web Stories” podcast to become a new and evolve version of the initial project.

World Web Stories is a podcast made in English. Even I’m pretty scared about hosting a podcast in English (I’m a native French), I also know that I need to take this first step to help others to share their life stories.

For the first season, I’m planning in doing one episode per week and interview at least one person in each country of the world. My goal is to interview as many people as possible in 2021.

What do I do if I want to be a guest?

I’m glad you ask! If you are interested in being part of the community of guests, feel free 👉 to fill this form on the website and I will contact you in the coming days to schedule the interview. I will not be able to interview everyone for the first season but I’m working on other projects that could potentially interest more people.

If you know anyone that works with web (a developer or someone who works with web technologies), feel free to share this article with them!
